One of a kind throw pillow made from a panel of antique Japanese fabric. The floral pattern is achieved through the katazome technique of paste-resist dyeing. A rice paste is applied to the fabric through a hand cut stencil, katagami, and serves as a resist before the textile is dipped into the dye vat. Once the paste is removed the pattern is revealed.
