A lightweight, dreamy summer quilt made from vintage Japanese shibori fabric remnants hand pieced together. This type of shibori, known as sekka shibori, is made by repeatedly pleating and folding the textile, clamping it between two boards and dipping it into the dye vat. The folds create geometric patterns and as the dye is drawn into the fabric, a distinctive soft-edged effect is created.
This quilt is backed with an antique Belgian linen sheet, hand quilted with Japanese sashiko thread and framed with a double-fold bias binding.
