A stunning six panel handwoven hemp noren featuring two tsutsugaki (resist dyed) mon (family crests) and a pine motif. Tsutsugaki is a technique of resist dyeing in which designs are precisely drawn onto fabric using a sweet rice paste, the fabric is then dipped into a dye vat, and finally the rice paste is removed. This noren would have been used for special occasions only and is in excellent condition.
